Steampunk Tales #3 Cover Painter October 2009
I created this image for the cover of issue #3 of Steampunk Tales, a collection of Steampunk stories by award-winning authors.
I created this image using Corel Painter, using the scratch board tool for line work and color with the pastel brushes. The last stage was to distress it to emulate the look and feel of pulp
magazines from the 30s and 40s. I added some yellow and sepia textures throughout and a few distress lines at the corners and along the "spine" using a thin pastel brush.
